Handmade in our family bakery, we have been making and baking Welshcakes for over 90 years, using our traditional recipe. Their rich, buttery taste originates from the award winning Shirgar Butter, to give a true taste of Wales. These delicate sweet treats are still lovingly hand turned on a griddle which gives them their authentic toasty finish. Delicious on their own and perfection when served with freshly brewed tea.

Tasty, tasty and great packaging

Five star for these little beauties, rich butter taste, lots of fruit, very nice. But it's the packaging I'd like to share. It's too notch designed, lot's of little touches, humour and color. Love the little sheep on the bottom left, you put a lot of thought into this, well done.

Gorgeous Welsh Cakes for St Davids Day

I ordered the traditional Welsh cakes. They are delicious, soft fruit & the right amount of spice. They reminded me of my late father’s Welsh cakes made in the bake stone. Delicious.

Bakers Since 1936

The origins of our bakery date back to 1936 when Wilfred Charles Lewis, a local of Swansea & Gower, decided to start making pies for the community.

Wilfred Charles started his small bakery in a single room in Fleet Street, Sandfields. He made his pies in solid metal tins and cooled them on the pavement outside. Wilfred perfected his craft, and soon enough he gained a reputation for his delectable pies.

Today and since 2013 it’s the third generation of the Lewis family, Wilfred James Lewis, that continues to guide the business.
