Sustainability

As the global population continues to grow, the importance of sustainability in the food manufacturing industry has become increasingly urgent. Consumers are now more conscious than ever about the impact their choices have on the environment and society.

That's why at Wilfred’s we have taken significant steps to improve our sustainability credentials.

  • One of the ways we are becoming more environmentally friendly is by recycling all cardboard and plastic used in our packaging. This ensures that these materials are not sent to landfills. Instead, they are repurposed and given a new life.
  • In addition, our packaging is becoming even more eco-friendly by swapping to materials that are kerbside recyclable meaning that customers can easily dispose of our packaging in their household recycling bins.

We have taken steps to reduce the number of vehicles on the road, by consolidating sales journeys. This not only reduces our carbon footprint but also improves efficiency and reduces costs giving consumers the best deal. By planning our routes more carefully, we can ensure that we are making the most of our resources and reducing unnecessary emissions.

Furthermore, we also ensure that any food waste generated during the production process is sent to local biomass energy plants. This means waste is converted into renewable energy rather than being discarded, reducing the carbon footprint.

We aim to achieve a continuous improvement culture within our company, allowing us to regularly assess our operations. Enabling us to identify areas for improvement, and implement changes that lead to more sustainable practices.

By continually striving to do better, we have been able to make significant progress in reducing our environmental impact.
